Question What is the relationship between the CRIS and WHO ICTRP?
Type Others

The WHO ICTRP is a platform to link clinical trial registers in order to ensure a single point of access and the unambiguous identification of trials with a view to enhancing access to information by the public.

The participating clinical trial registers into the WHO ICTRP are referred to as ´Primary Registries.´ Those Primary Registries meet specific criteria for content, quality and validity, accessibility, unique identification, technical capacity and administration. The CRIS has been one of those Primary Registries since May 2010.

The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors(ICMJE) requires that all medical journal editors require registration of clinical trials in a public trials registry at or before the time of first patient enrollment as a condition of consideration for publication. It acknowledges the Primary Registry of the WHO ICTRP as a public trials registry. Therefore, If you plans to submit your manuscript to the journal following the ICMJE requirement, the clinical trial registration with the CRIS meets that requirement.
